Lenovo Launches New Yoga Laptops, 2-in-1 Chromebook, and Two New Tablets

After launching IdeaPad Gaming 3i (2021) laptop in India last month, Lenovo today announced tons of new products at its annual Tech World 2021 virtual event. These include two new laptops, a couple of tablets , and a new hybrid Chromebook device that comes with a detachable display. So, let’s take a quick look at the key details and features of these devices.

Slim Yoga Laptops 7 Series

Starting with the laptops, there are two models in the Yoga Sim 7 series – the Yoga Slim 7 Carbon and the Yoga Slim 7 Pro. The Yoga Slim 7 Pro is backed by a 16-inch QHD-enabled display with 120Hz refresh rate support, while the lower Yoga Slim 7 Carbon comes with a 14-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the Slim 7 Pro packs up an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor along with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 GPU. Conversely, the Slim Carbon 7 packs up an AMD Ryzen 7 5800U mobile processor along with up to an Nvidia GeForce MX450 GPU. Both devices pack up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage. While the Yoga Slim 7 Pro comes with microSD slot support to expand storage or enhance your creative workflow, the Slim Carbon 7 lacks the feature.

Coming to the battery, the Yoga Slim 7 Pro can provide 12.5 hours of use on a single charge. The Slim Carbon 7, however, comes with longer battery life support. It can deliver up to 14.5 hours of battery life on a single charge. Moreover, users can get two USB-A ports, one USB-C port, and an HDMI port on the Slim 7 Pro. However, the lower Carbon 7 comes with only two USB-Off and one USB-C.

As for the design, the Yoga Slim 7 Pro weighs about 2.1 kg and is 17.4mm thick. However, if users want a more portable option, they could go for the Slim Carbon 7 as it pertains to building carbon fiber and weighing just over 1 kg.

Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook

Apart from the Yoga laptops, Lenovo unveiled a new two-in-one Chromebook device – the Lenovo Duet 5. The device has a 13.3-inch touch-enabled OLED panel that can be easily separated from the keyboard to turn it into a Chrome Tablet OS. Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 processor inside, as well as up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.

In addition, it comes with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The device also has two USB ports on board. As for the battery, the Duet 5 Chromebook can run for up to 15 hours on a single charge.

Lenovo P-Series Tablets

Lenovo P11 5G

Along with the new laptops and the hybrid Chromebook, Lenovo has also announced two new tablets – the P11 5G and P12 Pro.

Lenovo P11 5G comes with an 11-inch display with a maximum resolution of 2000 x 1660p. Under the hood, the device has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset, as well as up to 8G RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Users can also expand the internal storage, thanks to the onboard microSD slot. Plus, as the name implies, the device comes with support for 5G and Wi-Fi 6 networks.

In addition, the P11 5G comes with one 13MP rear camera sensor and 8MP front camera. Other than this, you have four JBL speakers on board and huge 7,000mAh battery which supports 20W fast charging.

Lenovo P12 Pro

Now, coming to the high-end P12 Pro tablet, there are two versions – with or without support for 5G networks. The event has launched a Wi-Fi-only version of the device. It has a 12.6-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum resolution of 2500 x 1600p. It also supports HDR10 + and Dolby Vision technology to provide an immersive viewing experience.

Under the hood, the device packs the Snapdragon 870 SoC paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. Moreover, there is a microSD card slot to further expand the internal storage.

As for the cameras, the P12 Pro comes with a dual-camera arrangement on the back, which includes a 13MP primary lens and a 5MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video calls, the device packs a 5MP front camera.

Turning on the battery, the tablet becomes huge 10,200mAh battery which supports 45W fast charging. The power button also has an integrated fingerprint sensor. In addition, there are pogo pins for connecting other accessories like the optional keyboard accessory.

Price and Availability

While there is no information on when the company plans to make the devices available for purchase, Lenovo has revealed the prices of the devices.

So, the Slim 7 Carbon Yoga starts at $ 1,290 (~ Rs. 94,913) and the Slim 7 Pro starts at $ 1,449 (~ Rs. 1,06,612) in the US. Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook starts at $ 430 (~ Rs 31,637) for the base model.

Turning to the P-series tablet devices, the Lenovo P11 5G will start at $ 590 (~ Rs 43,410), while the Wi-Fi-only version of the P12 Pro will start at $ 610 (~ Rs 44,881).

Lenovo will launch all of the above devices sometime during October. The new Yoga laptops are Windows 11 based devices and will run the OS out of the box. Although the company has not yet announced an official launch date, we can expect Lenovo to start selling these products as soon as Microsoft starts rolling out Windows 11 for compatible devices, starting from October 5th.
